Do-It-Yourself Build-In Wardrobe

Do-It-Yourself Build-In Wardrobe

Furniture Design

Relocation. Huge wardrobe. One third for the salvation army. What to do with the rest? A standard of-the-shelf wardrobe will not make use of the roof pitch in the new bedroom. Order a cabinet maker or do it myself… a potent agent against design overkill, lack of imagination and waste of resources.

Stave laminated boards of beech wood are fixed with fillets against floor, walls and ceiling. The refurbished drawers come from old inventory. The clothes rail is made of two wooden rods with a connector. For a natural look the wood is slightly varnished and matted with sandpaper. The shoe racks are made from white furniture boards with beech decor. Simple white cotton curtains help against dust and curious looks.
