Greater Hamburg Law

Book Design

The first publication of Forum Kollau is a local history essay about the three Prussian communities of Lokstedt, Niendorf and Schnelsen being united to "Greater Lokstedt" by the Prussian Lower Elbe Law and not much later during the Nazi government being swallowed by Greater Hamburg.

This remarkable booklet was created in close cooperation with author Jürgen Frantz and editor Ingelor Schmidt. Before getting to the editorial layout with text and imagery a general master design for future publications of the Forum Kollau had to be developed.

A iconographic key visual was designed representing the three districts involved by its significant landmarks: water tower, octagonal church and wind mill. The complete design development was donated by kilde communications.
